Can you guys recommend either the 3.5, 4, or 4.5 level line (Nissina Oni Flourescent Orange) for the Iwana, assuming you can only buy one line? Also assume line length to be fished is 12' or length of rod with a 3' tippet section at 5X. Ability to easily cast a size 14 Royal Wulff for example of primary importance. Thanks.

Hi KenLockett, I can't speak for the Nissin line as I only use our Tenkara USA brand of level line. When I use ours, I almost always use 3.5. For me it casts well and lite enough to hold off the water fairly easily yet heavy enough to case, even if a bit windy, with the right casting stroke and speed. I seldom use heavier but if really windy, a heavier 4.5 is nice. Every now and then I also enjoy our 2.5 as it is uber lite for lite wind days and holds off the water even easier at a greater length. But generically, I prefer 3.5 lines. I cast 12' of 3.5 with 3' of 5X all day with our Sato rod in any of the 3 lengths it zooms to. TJ
