Neat fish. I've caught mullet in the salt, but didn't realize that there are freshwater types. Do these fish spend their whole life in freshwater or are the anadromous?

They are the fresh water type that live out their lives in the fresh, they mostly eat algae and grow very big. I'm working on an algae fly at the moment so I can target these more as the rivers are full of them.

Look similar to the mullet but different head and a lot bonier body construction, will take dry flies.
This afternoon went back to the spot and tried to target the mullet, but couldn't fool them with algae type fly but caught two fresh water herring and dropped one and had a follow in from something big. ;)
