I think that lost more than a little in the translation - and came out meaning the exact opposite of what he intended.

Having had several email exchanges with Ronald about horsehair lines, I think he means they cast and fish very well, and he wouldn't fish without them.

Ronald, please correct me if I am wrong.

LOL. I got what he meant the first time, but I see what you mean. Being native to the same language as Ronald it's not too much of a stretch.
