So, the Tenkara rod and lines arrived in time, and I was off to stream C for my first foray into Tenkara fishing. Pretty water, and with the exception of some unforeseen logging going on near the campsite, a beautiful spot.
Friday afternoon, got camp set, and decided I wasn’t going to break out the bamboo ( I’m a rod maker) but was going to give this simpler fishing a honest go. Fussed with the knots, I’ll have to practice some of those, and of course, left my magnifiers at home, so tying on flies ant tippet was going to involve more whining that usual. First fish, a 14” rainbow, next couple of hours, 10 to hand, and I missed a lot more getting used to the rod.
Nest morning, I broke camp, humped everything but the cooler and my wader bag up to the car and got back in the water. Wading wet still, probably should have went to waders a while ago, but such a hassle.
20 fish over 7”, 6 over 14” and more fingerlings that I wanted to count. I had to change flies ( 16 brown elk hair caddis mainly that day)because they finally wouldn’t float. Darn near had to tie on the fly behind a rock so the trout wouldn’t pester me.
Silly fun, you have a convert.

Yep, with a first time tenkara experience like that, it would be pretty hard not to be "hooked." Welcome to the club.
