Largest bass on Tenkara "Yamame" 5x tippet

This 4 1/4 lb. bass was caught from a boat, which prevented the fish from getting wrapped up in shoreline weeds and branches. Yes, it took some interesting 'gymnastics' moving the rod around the boat to follow the fish, but in the end, the Yamame won.

Oh for a larger Tenkara rod that can handle 3 wt....

Wow that's a nice bass. What did you catch it on and what did you use as far as the leader goes? Did you use the standard 10.5 foot leader in the weeds or longer? Nice going!

Used a brown marabou 'Clouser' type fly, worked like a spooked crayfish. Standard braided 10' line and 4' of 5x tippet. Lots of fun.

I have to say that looks like fun. Make me want to call in sick and break out my yamame, that I haven't used yet. Congratulations on a fine fish. I told my buddy about it and sent him the picture. I'm trying to get him more interested in tenkara.
